Framed photo with history of service WW1. With notation of the parents names who had 3 sons who served in WW1 William (Bill) Dyson, aged 22, followed his younger brothers to enlist in January 1916 as they were enroute to Egypt. Frederick (Fred) Dyson was the youngest of three brothers. Bert Dyson enlisted the same day as his Fred Dyson at Holdsworthy, New South Wales during November 1915.

Immortal Shrine (copy) - William Frederick Longstaff was an Australian painter and war artist best known for his works commemorating those who died in the First World War. Longstaff's 'Immortal shrine', also known as 'Eternal silence', depicts endless columns of ghostly soldiers marching past the Cenotaph on a rainy Remembrance Day in 1928.

"Diggers" and "Doughboys": Australian and American troop interaction on the Western Front, 1918. The First World War saw a largely positive interaction between Australian and American soldiers. Although thrown together for only a short time, the two forces left an indelible mark on each other.

The division was first formed in 1914 for service during World War I as a part of the Australian Imperial Force (AIF). It was initially part of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) and served with that formation during the Gallipoli campaign, before later serving on the Western Front.

The squadron disbanded on October 2nd, 1945 after completing 6,264 operational sorties. In those 4 years of operation the squadron lost 188 aircraft and sadly nearly 1,000 airmen were killed. Avro Lancaster bomber “G for George” of RAAF No. 460 Squadron at Binbrook, Lincolnshire, England.

On 24 July Partridge was a member of a patrol ordered to destroy an enemy post, known as Base 5, near Ratsua. The Australians came under heavy machine-gun fire. Despite wounds to his arm and thigh, Partridge rushed the nearest bunker, killing its occupants with grenade and knife, then began to attack a second bunker until loss of blood forced him to stop. He was awarded the Victoria Cross.

Record of Australia's Voluntary Effort in The Great War Aug 4 1914 To Jun 28 1919. A commemorative colour poster published c.1920 as a record of Australia's voluntary effort in the Great War. The composition is similar to that of an Honour Roll and features in the top centre a depiction of the rising sun badge within a wreath. A framed portrait of King George V is positioned above the badge with the union jack flag to the left and the Australian flag to the right. On either side of the badge are two pillars. At the top of the left pillar is a portrait of General Sir W.R. Birdwood, Commander of the Australian Imperial Forces and at the top of the right pillar is a portrait of Lieutenant General Sir J. Monash, Commander of the Australian Army Corp. Both pillars are adorned with ribbon banners bearing the names of military honours and the number awarded to the AIF.

1st on left Reginald Keast from Fredericton, 3rd left Stan Ennis from Collombattie Rail. The Imperial Camel Corps Brigade was formed in 1916 from British and Commonwealth troops and was attached to the Anzac Mounted Division. There were four regiments: the 1st and 3rd were Australian, the 2nd was British, and the 4th was a mix of New Zealanders and Australians. Each regiment had around 770 men, and at full strength the brigade contained almost 4,000 camels.

Memorial Hall Flooding 1949. In August 1949, the Macleay River in north eastern New South Wales caused major flooding in Kempsey and the lower Macleay floodplain. The flood destroyed numerous homes and the rescue efforts were severely hampered after the phone lines went down and the local radio station went off air.
